Ma Wan
Ma Wan is located between Lantau Island and Tsing Yi, with an area of 0.96 square kilometers. Its ancient name is "Tongqian Island" because the island looks like a perforated copper coin. The island preserves the Grade III historic building Tin Hau Temple, which was built before 1860 and bears witness to the customs history of the Qing Dynasty. After the completion of the Tsing Ma Bridge in 1997, construction began. Park Island was occupied in 2002. In 2024, the second phase of Ma Wan Park, "Ma Wan 1868", opened. The old village was revitalized into an art village, witnessing the development and changes of Hong Kong's islands. .
