Mei Ho House
Mei Ho House is located in Shek Kip Mei Village, Sham Shui Po. It was completed in 1954 and is the only existing H-shaped first-type resettlement building in Hong Kong. It has been rated as a Grade II historic building. Built in 1953 due to the Shek Kip Mei fire, it housed nearly 58,000 disaster victims and marked the beginning of Hong Kong's public housing policy. The building is 6 stories high, with a simple and plain design, and is H-shaped with a central part connecting the two wings. In 2013, it was revitalized into a youth hostel and public housing museum, witnessing the development of public housing in Hong Kong .
